Portrait Miniature of Pope Leo XII This is a miniature oil painting of Pope Leo XII (1760 - 1829). Copper frame. Pope Leo XII was elected Pope on September 28, 1820 and crowned on October 5, 1820. He died February 10, 1829. The painting is from this period. Dimensions are 3" wide x 3 1/2" high x 1/2" deep. This is an exquisitely detailed portrait miniature in excellent condition. Due to the condition of the painting, subject matter, historical value, and age, we estimate that this miniature painting would bring at auction $700.00 to $4,000.00.
