Harry Daniels

Harry Daniels was born and grew to manhood in the little town of Kolo, Poland. He immigrated to the USA, and spent his remaining years in New York City and the Catskill Mountains of New York State USA. His paintings, serigraph paintings, lithographs, handmade prints, and portfolios present us with a record of a segment of the past life of the Jews in Kolo, near Lodz, Poland.

Moses Soyer wrote of Harry Daniels work: "In contrast to the removed and unworldly worlds of Chagall and Weber, his is a realistic and social one. He has given us a record of a segment of life of the Jews in Kolo, near Lodz (Poland). It is a deeply human, persuasive and artistic record worthy of preservation."

Harry Daniels is a listed artist, whose work may be found in the Jewish Museum in New York City USA, and in the Jewish Museum in Belgium. These prints and serigraphs were hand made by Harry Daniels in his studio in the Catskill Mountains. They are very rare, as, sadly, his studio burned to the ground shortly after his death and the original plates were destroyed in the fire. The only prints that we know of that still exist are the few that he gave us to sell in our Barn Full of Antiques in the Catskills, and those that exist in museums and private collections.
